When brought in to help with Linux and SAN performance issues on their multi-tiered systems, Fortuitous provided key performance, design, and tuning expertise to improve performance and transition to higher capacity 64-bit systems.
Fortuitous was able to first tune the existing Linux and SAN systems so that accurate workload baseline data could be collected. After all major Linux and SAN issues were resolved, all tuning goals were successful.
Once baselined and tuned, Fortuitous developed performance models to quantify and design a transition from Linux 2.4 on 32-bit to Linux 2.6 on 64-bit systems. Key workload and performance requirements were mapped onto the new designs. Once implemented, all systems met or surpassed the client's goals.
